Quality Made in Ireland
Makers of 100% Irish-designed and woven scarves, throws, and fabrics in wool, cashmere, lambswool, mohair, and natural fibres. Every John Hanly piece that leaves their mill is a testament to craftsmanship, outstanding quality, and timeless beauty.
Rooted In The Past
The John Hanly story started back in 1893, when Denis Hanly and his son John set up a vertical woollen mill beside the Nenagh river, in a disused flour mill in Ballyartella, North Tipperary.
Natural & Sustainable
John Hanly work using only natural fibres as raw materials, and all are sourced from renowned suppliers who produce and source their wools and cashmere in a sustained and ethical manner.
125 Years of Weaving
Since 1893, John Hanly has gone from strength to strength. The mill currently employes 32 people in Ballyartella and remains the beating heart of what they do. They now supply to top brands and quality retailers in a wealth of countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, and, of course, Ireland.
